AUCKLAND, Today: New Zealand’s independent media agencies have teamed up to form a new industry association and take on their larger multinational rivals, reports media & marketing reporter Daniel Dunkley at NZME’s BusinessDesk.
“Twenty-five firms have joined Independent Media Agencies New Zealand (IMANZ), a not-for-profit body that will advocate for local agency groups with advertisers and media partners,” Dunkley writes.
“Stanley St, The Media Lab, Calibre + Candor and Contagion are among the names to sign up to the collective ahead of its formal launch later this month.”

“D3’s Alex Radford, has been appointed chair of IMANZ. The founding board also includes Kris Hadley of Together, Niven Boyle of The Media Dept, Ruth Perry of Lassoo and Elaine Gibbons of Sneakers Media.”
The new venture has the backing of NZME, TVNZ, MediaWorks, oOh! Media, Stuff, and Warner Bros. Discovery.
A launch event will take place at NZME’s Auckland offices on Tuesday 22 August.
