NZRenoTok rebrands as NZRealReveals – season two on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok

NZRenoTok, the social-first renovation series, is back for season two with a new identity. Rebranded as NZRealReveals, the series will now be available across YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.

Officially launched on September 24, the rebrand follows a successful first season, which delivered over 24 million views and produced 428 pieces of original content.

Now, NZRealReveals expands beyond renovation into a world of real stories, transformations and creativity – backed by a group of returning and new sponsors.

Season two welcomes:

  • Mitre 10 – key development partner
  • Resene Paints
  • Stanley Black & Decker
  • Yates
  • Noel Leeming
  • Kindness Collective – returning charity partner, with each team creating a unique playhouse for a local Kōhanga Reo

Hungry for DIY content

Speaking at Auckland’s recent Digital Day Out, founder Brooke Howard-Smith reflected on what is now known as a global first.

“Our first season proved that New Zealanders are hungry for relatable, fun and inspiring DIY content, but we had no idea it would resonate to the level that it did,” says Howard-Smith.

“With NZRealReveals, we’re taking that energy and amplifying it across YouTube, TikTok and Instagram and developing a live format that will allow NZ families to watch NZRealReveals from their living room TV, while voting on TikTok.”

Meet the teams of season two

  • Ash Davis – partner of NZ’s top creator Louis Davis – joins forces with Louis’ dad Lou Davis to keep it in the family. Together, they’ll show us how to create multigenerational spaces for their whānau in Whangārei.
  • Kesley Teneti, Black Ferns Champion, and her partner Tai are rolling up their sleeves on their property in Tauranga, bringing grit and teamwork from the rugby field into their home project.
  • Also in Tauranga, NZ’s most dynamic DIY duo “NZDIY” Carla & TJ will dance their way through their newly purchased reno project. (TJ is a dance instructor, and together they’ve got all the right moves – on and off the tools).
  • Micah Heath and his mum, well-known DIY flipper Blondie, take on their biggest challenge yet – transforming their recently purchased do-up in Glen Eden.

What to expect

Howard-Smith says NZRealReveals is set to inspire Kiwi DIYers this spring. The fresh energy, new creative partners and cast of Kiwi teams will bring unique stories and styles.

Audiences can look forward to:

  • Weekly live shows every Wednesday at 7:30pm from September 24, streaming simultaneously on TikTok and YouTube.
  • Weekly reveals showcasing achievable transformations from gardening to garage, BBQ to bedroom.
  • Behind-the-scenes storytelling that dives into process, passion, and problem-solving – real DIY stories that you can relate to.
  • Cross-platform content – A content ecosystem that now works across TikTok and Instagram, with extended features on YouTube.
  • Interactive community challenges inviting fans to help with ideas on every DIY challenge and win exclusive prizes.
  • Community impact builds with the Kindness Collective. Each team designs and builds a bespoke playhouse for a local Kōhanga Reo.
