Independent PR agency Undertow Media has won the ghd account after a competitive pitch.
Appointed as ghd’s retained PR agency in New Zealand, Undertow will handle all earned media, including launches, reviews and brand storytelling.
“We’re doubling down on New Zealand – not just showing up for launch moments, but building real momentum year-round,” says ghd managing director Stephanie Leathers.
“New Zealand is a focus market for us and Undertow brought sharp thinking on what cuts through locally, plus a clear approach to building consistent, high-impact earned coverage that supports our growth here.”

The partnership marks another addition to Undertow’s expanding beauty and lifestyle portfolio, alongside Estée Lauder, Jo Malone London, M·A·C, Tom Ford Beauty, Boost Lab, Bouf and tbh.
Instant recognition
“Three letters, instant recognition,” says Undertow Media senior account director Renai Hagstrom.
“ghd is a category icon – a brand that’s become shorthand for a really good hair day. We’re pumped to help more Kiwis experience that magic, one perfectly styled strand at a time.”
