Bastion reveals new brand platform for KFC NZ

Bastion Aotearoa has launched a new brand platform for KFC New Zealand built on the idea that craving always wins when it comes to KFC.

Titled ‘Gonna wanna’, the campaign aims to reignite desire and reshape how value is defined in the category, reframing it from a price conversation into something far more visceral, immediate and emotional.

Bastion led the strategy and creative, drawing on its integrated creative, social and production capabilities to deliver a platform built for scale and impact. Working alongside PHD and Special PR, the campaign rolls out across AV, social, OOH, radio, digital and in-store, creating a unified presence across every touchpoint.

Driven by real craving

Oli Green, chief creative officer at Bastion, says: “Off the back of the win, this was about setting a strong tone from day one. We wanted to create something unmistakably KFC – simple, confident and built to stretch. ‘Gonna wanna’ taps into that moment where logic goes out the window and craving takes over.”

Leanne Too, KFC marketing director, adds: “This is an exciting step forward for the brand. ‘Gonna wanna’ captures the role KFC plays in people’s lives – it’s spontaneous, it’s emotional and it’s driven by real craving. Bastion has helped us bring that to life in a way that feels fresh and distinctive.”
