AUCKLAND, Today: Dulux has celebrated the 15th anniversary of its annual Colour Forecast at a series of events held across the country.
Conceptualised and managed by Undertow Media, the events in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch were designed to showcase the colours set to influence interiors over the next 12 months.
The Auckland launch, held at Common Space Studio in Grey Lynn, saw the blank space transformed with three living space vignettes – one representing each of the new 2024 colour collections.
Presenters Evie Kemp (artist and Dulux ambassador), Lou Heller (stylist and fashion commentator) and Davina Harper (Dulux Colour Specialist) guided guests through the hallmarks of the new palettes as they engaged with various touchpoints and enjoyed cocktails crafted by Black Pineapple.
Additional events followed in Wellington and Christchurch, with panel discussions featuring the trio hosted by WOAP tastemaker Beth Brash at the Naumi Hotel and journalist Donna-Marie Lever at The Welder respectively.
Guests at all events had their aura colours photographed and evaluated, and were gifted commemorative wrapping paper designed exclusively for Dulux by Evie Kemp.
Davina Harper says the launches were the ideal platform to display and explore the unique 2024 colour combinations which are a surprising evolution from past collections.
“The campaign is being backed by traditional PR, paid and owned media.”
“This year we’ve introduced Solstice – a sunbaked palette of rich browns, clay and neutrals, Journey – a globally-influenced mix of yellow greens and reds, and Muse – a nostalgic, post-modern palette celebrating the 60s, 70s and 80s.” she says.
“We really wanted to do something special with this launch considering the 15-year milestone and Undertow interpreted our brief and executed each event exceptionally. The buzz in the air at each was electric and we’ve had such a positive response from guests.”
Undertow Media’s Jess Mayhew said: “The annual Colour Forecast is the apex of the year for Dulux and hotly anticipated by media, designers and consumers.
“Knowing that Dulux has a unique property in the Forecast, we wanted to provide people with a sensory experience to see the colours in situ while suggesting ways they can be used.
“Having Evie, Lou and Davina speak to their different interpretation of the palettes gave guests an insight into how colour can be weaved into everyday life – whether they were a hard-core maximalist or tried and true minimalist.
“Receiving such an awesome response is a testament to the hard work of the team and Dulux’s support – their trust and teamwork is key to our secret sauce for success.”
