Peter Horgan to exit Omnicom Media Group after 21 years

AUCKLAND, Today: Peter Horgan, CEO of Omnicom Media Group Australia and New Zealand, has announced his decision to step down after 21 years with the company.

The search for his successor is already in progress, and Horgan will stay in his role until mid-2025 to ensure a smooth transition. He will then step into a chair role to assist the new CEO’s onboarding.

Horgan’s 15-year tenure as CEO started with OMD Australia before leading OMG across ANZ in 2016. His leadership helped build the region’s top media agency group.

In addition to his leadership role, Horgan also served as Chair of the Media Federation of Australia for 10 years, driving transparency and fostering long-term relationships with major advertisers.

“At OMG, we are dedicated to support our leaders in their long-term succession planning strategy.” – Tony Harradine

Tony Harradine, CEO of Omnicom Media Group APAC, remarked, “Horgs has played a key role in elevating OMG’s competitive edge during his time with us, and this transition marks a natural evolution of his commitment to the continued success of our organisation.

“At OMG, we are dedicated to support our leaders in their long-term succession planning strategy. As such, over the last few months, Horgs and I have been working closely to identify the best leadership succession for our Australian and New Zealand businesses.

“We have taken a deliberate approach to ensure the individual aligns with OMG’s values, business ambitions, and possesses the vision to advance our Agency as a Platform proposition.”

Horgan says, “It has been a privilege to lead the exceptional OMG teams across Australia and New Zealand, and I thank you all. Nothing is forever, and I’m grateful to Tony for supporting my next chapter. My focus now is to set up OMG for ongoing success.”
