Partnership between Stuff and G.J. Gardner aims to debunk home building myths

Stuff and G.J. Gardner have introduced a fresh strategy with the goal of empowering New Zealanders with the essential information they need when building a new home.

Amidst the economic uncertainties of 2023, the housing market has experienced a significant downturn. This shift has also brought about an influx of both accurate and misleading information making it hard for home. builders to distinguish the fact from the fiction.

‘’With so many options, it’s that important people do their research and know what questions to ask when choosing a builder to work with,’’ says Olly Sundstrum, General Manager G.J. Gardner, master franchise. 

As New Zealand’s most trusted home builder, operating in New Zealand for over two decades, G.J. Gardner wants Kiwis to be armed with the most accurate information when it comes to building a new home.

‘’We have operated in this market for over 25 years and built close to 23,000 homes for New Zealanders, completing every house we have started—a statistic we are very proud of,’’ says Sundstrum.

‘’Building a home is one of the biggest decisions and investments people will make in their lifetime. Our people take our customers through the process, asking questions and helping them make informed decisions based on our experience, knowledge, and proven track record,’’ he adds.

For this reason, GJ’s agency, Calibre + Candor believed engaging a credible media partner to deliver this message was a core pillar in the G.J. Gardner communications strategy.

Stuff has launched the series of in-depth articles and videos, lasting over an eight-week campaign. The series will focus on everything from what to look in a builder, to how smart design can save you money in the long run. 

It will also feature a Q&A video with GJ’s Managing Director, Grant Porteous, answering Stuff reader questions, and highlighting the questions people didn’t know they needed to ask.
