Adwords has introduced a new ad type

Adwords has introduced a new ad type. On the ad upload screen, you will now see ‘Responsive Ad’ next to the ‘Image Ad’ section.

Responsive ad units automatically resize themselves to available ad space on a page. This saves the need to upload multiple creative sizes. Only last month we came across the ad company Specless that was creating size-agnostic ads that adapted themselves to ad spaces. They were the talk of the town as going up against the giant Google.

It appears that Google is striking back.

Some key features of responsive ads:
– Automatic sizing based on the space available
– Support for ad size changes after a screen orientation change
